Open your browser. Start learning.

The tutor shows you.
The narrator explains. You practice.

Do not spend your first evening configuring an environment. The application, tools and task context are in one place. You do not need Docker, a VPN, a virtual machine or paid software.

See what to pay attention to

A virtual tutor walks you through the example and highlights important parts of the application, code or tool. Connect the instruction to what is happening on screen.

Hear why the result matters

Narration explains the mechanism, decision and result. Pause the guidance, return to an earlier step and work through it at your own pace.

Test your own reasoning

Take over in the exercise: change data, run a test or make a decision. Compare the result and improve your solution using the explanation.

One environment, without switching between a video and a local installation. Tools fit the topic: from HTTP requests and code to a terminal, calculator or document. Practice in simulators and prepared cases, without attacking other people's systems.

What will you be able to do?

Defend an assessment, not just read a number.

Connect each metric to exploitation conditions. Then separate technical assessment from remediation order.

Starting point

You enter calculator values by intuition.

The skill you develop

Build a CVSS vector from evidence and the definitions of the correct version.

How you test it in practice

Justify selected metrics and identify data missing from an uncertain assessment.

Starting point

Two different ratings of the same issue look like a mistake.

The skill you develop

Compare assessment assumptions, versions and contexts.

How you test it in practice

Explain which difference changes the result and improve the rationale instead of automatically choosing the higher number.

Starting point

The highest CVSS score automatically goes first.

The skill you develop

Separate vulnerability severity from remediation priority.

How you test it in practice

Prepare a justified queue with an owner and review date, considering exposure and process importance.

Why does this matter beyond the course?

Useful for report reviews, vulnerability management and explaining why a fix is urgent. CVSS does not replace a full risk analysis.

Connect each skill to a concrete work product. Return to explanations while you practice.

A syllabus backed by materials

Specific topics.
Practice that helps you understand them.

See what makes up the syllabus: lessons, explanations, examples and exercises. The figures below describe different types of materials.

12chapters
Topic chapters in the current course materials. Subviews and indexes of the same content do not increase this count.
299narrated steps
Distinct pairs of screen text and narration after removing identical duplicates. These are guidance segments, not separate complete lessons.
53exercise variations
12 demonstrations and 41 vulnerability-assessment and risk-priority exercises. This is one set of exercise variations.
41assessment exercises
Assessment and decision-justification exercises already included in the 53 variations. They are not additional cases.

The figures describe the English-language source materials. The waiting list is for the planned Polish edition. These counts do not mean its translation is complete. Demonstration steps, examples and tasks are different units, not hours of video or counts of unique vulnerabilities.

Entry point

Who is this course for?

  • Vulnerability management analysts, pentesters and report recipients.
  • AppSec leads and operations teams that must justify remediation deadlines and policy exceptions.

What helps at the start

  • Basic understanding of vulnerabilities and application-flaw effects. No requirement to complete Web Security PRO or have prior CVSS calculator experience.

Available in Polish and English — you can switch language at any time. Command names, code snippets and standard identifiers remain in their original form.

How you learn

First, understand.
Then, do it yourself.

The tutor walks through an example and explains each decision. In the exercise, return to the context, check the result and improve your answer.

  1. Understand the situation

Goal, constraints and inputs. Know what you are testing and why.

  2. See the mechanism

Watch a demonstration with tutor commentary, step by step.

  3. Complete the task

Work with data, a tool or a scenario. Compare the result with your expectation.

  4. Draw a conclusion

Justify your decision and understand its limitations. Return to anything that needs improvement.

Exercises use simulators and selected mechanisms that run in the browser. They do not require attacking other people's systems.

Planned syllabus

Know what you are learning. And why.

Each area develops a specific skill. Learn not only the topic but also the action and outcome that learning leads to.

Each topic includes a skill and a concrete exercise outcome.

I want to join the list
01What the score describes

Separate technical severity, exploitation conditions, business consequences and remediation urgency. Analyze a queue where similar scores do not mean identical decisions. Establish what data is missing before assessment.

Case analysis

What you practice
Separate vulnerability severity from risk and remediation order.
Practical outcome
Classify case information by its role. Explain why CVSS is not incident probability.
02The vector, step by step

Map attack vector, complexity, required privileges and user interaction to a specific case. Assess confidentiality, integrity and availability impact and record a reason for every metric. Use the calculator to check a decision, not replace it.

Workshop with prepared data

What you practice
Assign metric values from exploitation conditions.
Practical outcome
Complete the vector and rationale. Identify missing evidence instead of choosing a value just because it increases the score.
03System boundaries and impact

Compare the security authority in CVSS v3 with vulnerable and subsequent systems in v4. Check what the attacker actually gains, not just what the application possesses. Avoid inflating impact with unconfirmed consequences.

Case analysis

What you practice
Assess impact within the boundaries of the relevant CVSS version.
Practical outcome
Compare the vulnerable system with other affected systems. Justify confidentiality, integrity and availability impact.
04Inside the calculator

Trace how metrics affect the score and vector display. Change one decision and explain the difference. Compare the numeric score, severity category and rationale in the finding description.

Tutor-guided exercise

What you practice
Connect a metric change to the score and its designation.
Practical outcome
Compare two vector variants in the calculator. Explain which assumption changed instead of interpreting the numeric difference alone.
05History and changes

Explore CVSS v1 as historical context, then compare v2, v3.0, v3.1 and v4.0 assessments. Check changes in definitions and metric groups. Reassess a case when changing versions instead of swapping only the vector prefix.

Case analysis

What you practice
Compare versions while respecting their different definitions.
Practical outcome
Identify changes in the assessment model through examples. Explain why a similar metric name does not justify copying the old vector.
06Disputed cases

Compare dated vendor and NVD assessments using curl and Netlogon examples. Identify the assumption behind the disagreement and its relevance in the assessed environment. Retain source ratings and your own rationale.

Case analysis

What you practice
Resolve rating differences by comparing assumptions and evidence.
Practical outcome
Compare competing rationales and identify the deciding fact. Record uncertainty when the material does not support choosing a value.
07Environment

Use the asset register, data-protection requirements and local conditions for an Environmental assessment. Separate the base score from the environment-adjusted assessment. Check that the same effect is not counted again under another name.

Workshop with prepared data

What you practice
Include deployment context without mixing it into the base description.
Practical outcome
Compare base and environmental assessments using case data. Identify assumptions that should not be counted again in the risk decision.
08Exploitation signals

Read prepared EPSS, KEV and SSVC decision examples. Establish each source's date and meaning and connect it to a specific vulnerability. Use this information for an operational decision while keeping the CVSS vector separate.

Case analysis

What you practice
Assess the significance of vulnerability exploitation information.
Practical outcome
Distinguish attack evidence, technique availability and missing data. Explain how new information changes the assessment or priority.
09Remediation order

Compare system exposure, business importance, impact-reduction options and fix availability. Assign owners and deadlines and justify any exception. Practice presenting the decision briefly to the action-plan approver.

Workshop with prepared data

What you practice
Turn an assessment into a justified operational decision.
Practical outcome
Organize findings considering exposure and process importance. Assign an owner and reassessment conditions.
10Decision review

Define when new evidence, configuration changes or exception expiry require reassessment. Record the rationale's history and the condition for checking the fix. Keep the remediation plan useful over time, not a one-off ranking.

Workshop with prepared data

What you practice
Defend an assessment's rationale and update it with new data.
Practical outcome
Respond to reviewer feedback, correct an assumption and record why it changed. Preserve the vector version and context.

In practice

What will you work on
during the course?

Each case has context, a concrete action and an outcome. The goal is not to memorize a command but to understand why the result changed.

A vector you can defend

Assign metrics to the supplied case, check the system boundary and compare version definitions. For a disputed assumption, retain the source and argument supporting your assessment.

Work productA CVSS sheet with a vector, evidence and metric rationale.

A remediation queue for system owners

Combine technical assessment with the asset register and dated exploitation signals. Choose the order, owners and necessary exceptions, explaining departures from the numeric ranking.

Work productAn action plan and concise priority rationale for the team and management.

Project author

Jacek Wlodarczyk

Creator of Cyberwiedza, cyberszkola and AI SecLabs. In these courses, I connect explanations of mechanisms with practice, observation and decisions you need to justify.

Running a command is not enough. What matters is what its output confirms, what it does not confirm and what the next step should be.

More about the author

Before joining

Good to know.

Does this course require prior PRO training?

No. This is a standalone course in vulnerability assessment and remediation planning. You need to understand vulnerabilities and their effects; metric work starts with reasoning about a specific case.

Does CVSS replace risk analysis?

No. The course shows how to connect technical severity to a separate priority decision. Broader analysis of scenarios, losses, uncertainty and treatment is covered in Risk Analysis and Management.

Am I buying a course now?

No. This is an upcoming course announcement and an interest list. Joining is not a purchase, a place reservation or a commitment to pay.

When will it launch, and what will it cost?

The launch date, price and access terms will be announced before sales open. The interest list is how we send that information.

What language will the course use?

The course is available in Polish and in English — you can switch language at any time, and lessons, exercise explanations and narration exist in both. Commands, code and tool names keep their original syntax, as used in everyday work.

Do I need to install Docker, a VPN or my own lab?

No. All course exercises run in your browser on a computer with internet access. Training applications, terminals, editors and workshops are part of the platform. You do not install Docker, a virtual machine or a VPN, and you do not need paid external tools.

Is this just a collection of videos?

No. You work in an interactive environment. A virtual tutor highlights important elements, and narration explains the action and its result. Pause the lesson, return to earlier steps and run your own experiments. This guidance is built into the course, not individual consultation with a person.

Do the exercises act on other people's systems?

No. You use training applications, simulators and prepared data. Learn the mechanism and its limitations in a safe environment. External resources are supplementary, not required to complete the exercises.

Will I receive a certificate or a job guarantee?

Yes, a certificate of completion. When you complete the course, you receive a certificate in English with a unique code that anyone can check at cyberszkola.pl/verify. It confirms completion of the course and is issued by the author; it is not an industry certification. We do not promise employment.

Are these official OWASP or ISO courses?

No. These are independently authored courses using public references and original cases. They do not replace licensed standards, accreditation or qualifications required in regulated industries.
